Description
Bid on this antique 1947-48 Detroit Red Wings program that comes from the personal collection of Mr. Hockey himself - Gordie Howe. Issued for the November 9, 1947 matchup against the rival Toronto Maple Leafs, this early Olympia Stadium program has been signed by 19 Red Wings legends, including several rare Hall of Famers. Signatures include Jack Adams (deceased 1968), Tommy Ivan (deceased 1999), Bill Quackenbush (deceased 1999), Jack Stewart (deceased 1983), Red Kelly (deceased 2019), Sid Abel (deceased 2000), Ted Lindsay (deceased 2019), Leo Reise (deceased 2015), Max McNab (deceased 2007), Jim Conacher (deceased 2020), Harry Lumley (deceased 1998), Pat Lundy (deceased 1999), Doug McCaig (deceased 1982), Jim McFadden (deceased 2002), Pete Horeck (deceased 2009), Ed Bruneteau (deceased 2002), Gerry Couture (deceased 1994), Tom McGrattan (deceased 2022) and Gordie Howe (deceased 2016). From Gordie Howe's second season in the NHL, this program dates to the year he first donned his now-iconic #9 jersey. It displays the very rare Gordie early-career signature as well. Due to age, some obvious wear is visible including the cover no longer being attached to the body of the program.

In an Open Auction, buyers bid until the auction ends. The item is then sold to the highest bidder at the end of the auction period. There is no reserve price in an Open auction. The seller must sell the item to the highest bidder. Bidding can start as low as the Opening Value (minimum price or starting amount) of the auction. Once the auction closes, email notification providing contact information is sent to the buyer and seller automatically so that arrangements for payment and shipment of the item can be determined.
What is a Maximum Bid?
Your maximum bid amount is the highest price you are willing to pay for an item (subject to shipping and handling fees, plus applicable taxes). When you place your maximum bid amount, your bid will be processed in the designated bid increment amount above the current bid. If you are outbid, the system will automatically place bids for you at the bid increment until your maximum bid is reached. By way of an example, if an auction opens at $10 with a $1 bid increment and you place a maximum bid of $100, your bid will initially be processed at $11. If another bidder places a bid at $12, the system will automatically bid $13 for you and will continue up to your maximum bid amount of $100.
