The National Hockey League-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program is proud to offer fans and collectors across the globe the opportunity to own a piece of history ... the actual jersey from the set of opposite colored jerseys prepared for #8 Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals for the National Hockey League All-Star Game in Columbus, Ohio on January 23, 2015.
Jerseys were prepared in black and white for each player prior to the 2015 NHL Fantasy Draft. Once Team Toews (white) and Team Foligno (black) made their All-Star Game selections, the one set of All-Star Game jerseys that were on stage and not needed by the players selected in the opposite color were authenticated and prepared for this auction.
This White NHL All-Star Game Jersey, a size 58 registered into the MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program as number L08854, was authenticated before and again immediately after the Fantasy Draft.
Every jersey worn by each of the participating MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program clubs contains a uniquely numbered inventory tag sewn into the jersey BEFORE IT IS WORN BY THE PLAYER ON THE ICE. This tag is equipped with covert security features regularly checked by MGG Program Directors so we can tell who wore the jersey, and when.
