Description
True brand hockey skates worn by Wayne Gretzky's son, Ty Gretzky, during the 2023 Gretzky Hockey School. These are custom 1/1 hand painted skates by Guby Customs, which drew inspiration from Ty's father Wayne Gretzky, Walter Gretzky, the Hockey School, and the Edmonton Oilers.
The skates also feature blue Tuuks (blade holder) and gold blades. Each skate is autographed by Wayne Gretzky and will come with a Certificate of Authenticity from Ty Gretzky
Please note, these skates were worn on the ice by Ty Gretzky during the Gretzky Hockey School so they are not brand new..
100% of auctions proceeds will be contributed directly by Ty Gretzky to benefit Collin Magdon and his family to help pay for medical expenses.
2 years ago, Collin Magdon was the beneficiary of a complementary entry to The Gretzky Hockey School, which was founded in 2014 by Ty and the Gretzky family. The Gretzky Hockey School started with one week in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in 2014 and now has reached a number of cities across North America today and is growing each year. The Gretzky Hockey School provides players with a unique and unforgettable experience that combines top-notch instruction with an inspiring atmosphere. From on-ice drills and skill-building sessions to off-ice training and classroom discussions, students at the Gretzky Hockey School receive a comprehensive education in all aspects of the game. After meeting Colin at the hockey school that year, it was obvious how much he loved the game. His dedication, passion, and work ethic each day was truly inspiring, and it showed on the ice with his skill. Even through the difficult times during chemo and continued blood work, nothing held him back and he never made excuses. He was one of the hardest working kids each day so he was told that he would be invited back each year to attend. His dad is the Zamboni driver at the local rink in Las Vegas and has vowed to continue working every tournament and session he could to make this happen for Collin. Due to the many medical bills from chemotherapy, ongoing checkups and blood work, Collin has been unable to attend recent hockey camps and has missed other hockey activities so the Gretzky family wants for the proceeds of these skates to allow Collin's family to be less concerned about their hockey bills on top of their medical bills and cancer treatment strain.

In an Open Auction, buyers bid until the auction ends. The item is then sold to the highest bidder at the end of the auction period. There is no reserve price in an Open auction. The seller must sell the item to the highest bidder. Bidding can start as low as the Opening Value (minimum price or starting amount) of the auction. Once the auction closes, email notification providing contact information is sent to the buyer and seller automatically so that arrangements for payment and shipment of the item can be determined.
What is a Maximum Bid?
Your maximum bid amount is the highest price you are willing to pay for an item (subject to shipping and handling fees, plus applicable taxes). When you place your maximum bid amount, your bid will be processed in the designated bid increment amount above the current bid. If you are outbid, the system will automatically place bids for you at the bid increment until your maximum bid is reached. By way of an example, if an auction opens at $10 with a $1 bid increment and you place a maximum bid of $100, your bid will initially be processed at $11. If another bidder places a bid at $12, the system will automatically bid $13 for you and will continue up to your maximum bid amount of $100.
