Description
The uprising for racial equality spurred Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba and his brother Kyle into action, and their latest project transforming an ordinary pair of hockey skates into a meaningful work of art combines their love of Minneapolis with their desire to be agents for change.
Kyle painted skates provided by CCM, based on a design Kyle and Matt mapped out together. The culture and people of Lake Street were the inspiration for the design plans, as was a bright blue and yellow mural of George Floyd at the site of his killing that was completed in late May by three local artists.
These skates are a retail version, Super Tacks As3 Pro, size 10 not his custom model (visually the same).
93% of proceeds from this auction will go to the Lake Street Council, a 501(c)(3) organization. The Lake Street Council's mission is to engage, serve, and advocate for the Lake Street business community. The Lake Street Council helps rebuild Lake Street, starting with direct support to small businesses and nonprofits to help them rebuild their storefronts, reopen their businesses, and serve their neighborhoods.
Shipping may be delayed due to COVID19 but should be able to be shipped 2 weeks after auction closes.
