This Carolina Hurricanes PRACTICE-USED PUCK signed by Ron Hainsey #65 comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Ron Hainsey was drafted 13th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. After spending three seasons with the Canadiens, he was claimed off of waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets. In July 2008, the Atlanta Thrashers signed Hainsey to a five-year contract and continued with the team upon their move to Winnipeg. Hainsey played a role in the 2012-13 lockout negotiations. In September 2013, he signed a one-year contact with the Hurricanes after defenseman Joni Pitkanen would have to miss the season due to injury. In September 2013, Hainsey signed a three-year contract extension. In February 2017, Hainsey, in the final year of his contract, was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins. After 14 seasons in the NHL, Hainsey finally made his Stanley Cup playoffs debut. In June 2017, he won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins. All proceeds benefit the Kids 'N Community Foundation, the Carolina Hurricanes charitable arm.
