This Hockey Fights Cancer AUTHENTIC John-Michael Liles #26 Carolina Hurricanes Jersey was worn in pre-game warm-ups prior to the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 4, 2014. The jersey is autographed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is a purple, size 56. In 1997, John-Michael Liles was invited and selected to play in theÿU.S. National Team Development Programÿbased inÿAnn Arbor. In the 1999?00 season he was recruited to play collegiate hockey withÿMichigan State Universityÿand as a freshman, led the defensemen in scoring with an impressive 28 points in 40 games. After completing his collegiate career, Liles signed an entry-level contract with the Colorado Avalanche. In theÿ2003?04ÿseason, Liles scored his first NHL goal against theÿMinnesota Wildÿand led all rookie defensemen with 10 goals and 34 points in 79 games and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. He was selected to represent the United States in the 2006 Winter Olympics, playing in all six games and recording 2 assists. He was acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2013-2014 season. All proceeds will benefit the Kids ?N Community Foundation.
